Tips To Keep Your Online Content Secure

In today’s online obsessed world, security is something of a hot topic. But just because so much about the web is anonymous doesn’t mean you can take that kind of pseudo-privacy for granted. The truth is, there are measures that need to be taken in order to keep your information private. JW Maxx Solutions shares four easy ways to help start your safety regimen.

1. Set a Secure Password:  Passwords are easier than ever for hackers to crack, so choosing something that will keep your private information secure is essential.  Experts recommend using something with a mix of letters (both upper and lower case) numbers and symbols. It might be more complicated to remember, but JW Maxx Solutions knows that taking this extra step will help more in the long run. Also, don’t use the same password for everything. If it helps, keep them written down somewhere private to help make remembering easy.

2. Clear your Cookies: Browsers store past history and information. Not sure how? Just go to your settings or history up at the top of your internet window and it will have an option to remove or clear cookies.  This also helps use less storage on your computer, so it’s something that is beneficial for more than one reason.

3. Remember to log out: If you are using a computer that someone else may have access to, remember to completely log and exit out of any applications or websites that have sensitive material. By leaving them open it’s like leaving the front door of the apartment open while running to the store. Not a good idea. Some sitess even have automatic log-outs after a certain amount of time without activity, but better safe than sorry.

4. Never share your password: Even if you think your best friend or boyfriend will never betray you, it is still a good idea to avoid sharing your online passwords with anyone. This rule applies for anything like social media or email but especially for online banking. Someone having access to that is just like them having your PIN.

By following these easy steps and more, users can help guarantee their online safety isn’t at risk.
